OP Tennis Preview

It’s finally that time of year – Tennis season. Although compared to other sports, especially at OP, tennis is not considered the most popular sport. Which is totally fine. Yet Tennis isn’t like most sports. It’s a sport that requires speed, intelligence, poise, mental toughness, and so much more. Over the spring break, OP tennis will be having their tryouts. All the guys have put a lot forward and it shows on the court. It will be great to see all the guys back on the court playing together. This years returning varsity seniors include Robert Massaroni, Colin Reis, and John Shaloub. These guys hope to not only lead the team to victory, but give the younger guys guidance and help them throughout the season. 

Notable players from the Junior class include Josh Jones and Rome Brachfeld. Josh is a returning varsity doubles player and is ready to step up for the team. Rome is looking for his varsity debut and is a very promising player. The freshman and sophomore class is something to look forward to. This past season the team was made up of only seniors and juniors. It is now an time for the underclassmen to prove themselves and make a bright future for the program.

Notable matches for the team include Dayton, Governor Livingston, Summit, Westfield, Scotch Plains, and Cranford. This will be a tough schedule for the Rams but nonetheless a winnable and rewarding season to look forward to.
