JV Soccer Recap

Colin Reis, Staff Writer

As the fall season of sports comes to an end, it is a time of reflection and thoughts about the season. I had the privilege of playing for the JV soccer team. I saw myself become a better player as the season progressed and came to an end. But this isn’t about me. This is about how we became a team and how we progressed as a team. How did our season go? In a word, I would say, unexpected. Some of us guys didn’t know if we would have a season. Luckily, we did, and to be honest, it was a great season and I enjoyed every minute. Practicing every day after and putting the work in paid off. Our final record was 3-2-3. A couple of those ties could have been wins, but overall a very good record. Usually, we would play around 15 games, but we were happy we could play as many games as we could. We had some key players that helped our team execute victory. Some of these players include Pat Feit, Andrew VanHoven, Andy Hernandez, Alex Carasscosa, and many more. The head coach of our team, Eric Dilisi, lead us to victory as well and was a great coach. At the end of the season, he stated that “Over the last 4 years coaching, this is the most skilled team he has coached.” That definitely meant a lot to us and we couldn’t have done it without him. As the season went on, we came up with a phrase that we played by, “Protect the Shrine”. And I think that really stuck with us throughout the season.
