Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Presentation

Connor McDermott, Staff Writer

Oratory had an exciting assembly for students who want to go above and beyond in helping others. Two speakers from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society came to talk about their Student of the Year campaign. Students of the year is a seven-week long competition between schools to see who can raise the most money for LLS.

Last year, OP had current juniors Aidan Philbrick, Logan Drone, Joe Marchese, Liam Henderson, and Micheal Viggiano participate. Aidan Philbrick was runner up for the State of New Jersey.

The contest requires hard work and excellence out of all of the participants. Students must contact businesses, plan events, and go into meetings with companies to ensure the most money is won for this noteworthy cause. As this year’s team or teams emerge, make sure to support their endeavors so that they can take home a win not just for Oratory but one for everyone who has or has been affected by these terrible diseases.
