Although nobody is very happy about returning to school, one benefit is coming back to see senior class favorite Migalan Jeevananda. If you’re a new student and do not know Migalan, he’s been a class favorite of ours for a couple of years now. Whether it’s his random outbursts in class, sarcastic jabs to classmates, or extensive knowledge of ancient European dynasties, we love seeing Miggy roaming the halls. Therefore, I interviewed Miggy last week to see how he was doing as we start the new school year.

Migalan’s answers gave me the feeling he wasn’t the biggest fan of summer. He remarked that his summer wasn’t too eventful besides his visit to Canada to see some relatives. I feel like that happens to everyone at some point in the summer. Going through the same progression every day without much to do can be very boring at times. Anyways, Migalan did, however, say he was looking forward to the beginning of the new school year. He said, “School can be interesting and act as a nice transition for the preceding summer days that tend to drag on and stay ‘boring’. School is generally refreshing and a good contrast to the summer.” Migalan said he likes how the first month or so of the school provides a fresh start after three long months of summer. Furthermore, Miggy commented on how excited he was to take AP Bio this year. He said that he’s always loved biology, and it was the only specific class that he wanted to take for his senior year. Lastly, I asked him about what he was looking forward to most in his last year of high school. Miggy is looking forward to the senior retreat, as he thinks that specific trip seems to be the most amusing event at school. He also referred to the senior graduation ceremony as an “intriguing event” he has always looked forward to.

As for Migalan’s college interests, he didn’t give me much, which I understand people like to keep some of those things private. Just know, Migalan has good enough grades and the brains to go to a lot of good colleges. All in all, it was nice to get a chance to sit down with Miggy after a long summer. For those who haven’t met him, definitely have a conversation with him; it’s worth it.
