The AFC East Fight

The AFC East Fight

The National Football League is closing in on the halfway point of the season, and very few people saw the AFC East turning out the way it has.  As of October 23rd, the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and the New England Patriots are tied for 1st place.  The Bills were predicted to be one of the bottom feeders of the league, but they have had great initial success and have allowed the fewest points against over seven weeks.  The Dolphins had the talent to possibly be a wild card spot, but with injuries to both starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill and backup Jay Cutler, they are expected to be tied with or below the Bills. Meanwhile, Patriots fans aren’t too worried though after a shaky start to the season.  They have gone on a tear with a three-game win streak, the most recent being a convincing win against former Super Bowl opponent Atlanta Falcons.  It’s expected that the Patriots will pull away at this point, although anything can happen.  With the exceptional performance of backup quarterback Matt Moore of the Dolphins and the outstanding defense of the Bills, the Patriots should not take their position in first as a given because these two teams could give them a run for their money.
