  • The Last Guardian
    • An action-adventure puzzle game made by the creators of Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian seems to be a very promising game. It’s the story of a young boy who has been kidnapped and, in an effort to escape, befriends a giant part-bird, part-dog, part-cat creature. Team Ico’s past successes seem to show that The Last Guardian will be a very memorable emotional rollercoaster.
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
    • A cyberpunk action game, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided expands the story of its predecessor Deus Ex: Human Revolution. With bodily augmentations commonplace, there’s no doubt that violence and general heroism will ensue. The game expands upon the foundations of the first games and adds more augmentations and abilities for your protagonist, Adam Jensen, to become the ultimate mercenary.
  • Mass Effect: Andromeda
    • Not much is known about Mass Effect: Andromeda, but what we do know is that it will follow the events of Mass Effect 3 and will follow the formula of the past games.
  • Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst
    • A full reboot of the Mirror’s Edge franchise, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is an open world parkour action game developed by EA Dice. Using the new and improved Frostbite 3 Engine, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst looks to be the amazing follow up to the 2008 classic that we’ve been waiting for.
  • For Honor
    • A new take on the medieval chivalry-style fighting game, For Honor is Ubisoft’s newest IP. As a multiplayer hack-n-slash game, For Honor pits knights, samurai, and vikings against each other in an epic battle royale. The game mixes the need for strategy, good reflexes, and pure skill in an awesome battle of the ages.
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
    • Uncharted 4 is the next entry in the very successful Uncharted series. Expanding on the story of Nathan Drake and his presumed-dead brother, Uncharted 4 combines interactive storytelling with unrivaled action for a great experience.
  • Dark Souls III
    • The newest game from From Software, Dark Souls III is the newest ruthless game in the Dark Souls series, coming back with the same cruel action and difficult bosses.
  • World of Final Fantasy
    • A new series based upon Final Fantasy, World of Final Fantasy puts tiny cute characters in an RPG reminiscent of the earlier Final Fantasy games.
  • Dishonored 2
    • Sequel to the award-winning game, Dishonored 2’s story comes back 15 years after the events of the first game with Empress Emily Kaldwin dethroned. Determined to get back to the throne, Emily comes bearing the mark of the Outsider, allowing for her to use the powers of the protagonist of the previous game, Corvo.
  • Tom Clancy’s The Division
    • The Division is a new open world multiplayer third-person shooter set in an abandoned New York City. After a weaponized disease spreads throughout the country in a matter of days, the Strategic Homeland Division, a classified division of agents who lead seemingly normal lives, is activated to piece the city back together.
  • Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
    • A crossover between the Paper Mario series and the Mario & Luigi series, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam mixes the RPG elements of both games into something unique and fresh.
  • The Legend of Zelda Wii U
    • Little is known about The Legend of Zelda Wii U, but what is known is that it will be throwing away the story-based formula that they have used for every Legend of Zelda game since Ocarina of Time, but they will instead be using the exploration-based formula that made the first game a classic.
  • Street Fighter 5
    • The first Street Fighter game since 2008’s Street Fighter IV, Street Fighter 5 adds on to its predecessor, with new characters, features, and graphics.
  • Quantum Break
    • Quantum Break is a new game by Remedy Entertainment, the creators of Max Payne and Alan Wake. The game will release alongside a digital show based upon the player’s actions in-game.
  • Yooka-Laylee
    • Yooka-Laylee is a 3D collectathon platformer made by Playtonic Games, a studio made up of many ex-developers from Rare who worked on Banjo-Kazooie. A spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee aims to provide some old-school 3D platforming that will give you nostalgia.
  • Far Cry Primal
    • An FPS with no guns, Far Cry Primal is the newest Far Cry game, set in prehistoric times. With the ability to tame and control any animal you see, Far Cry Primal aims to diverge from its predecessors.
  • Star Fox Zero
    • The first original Star Fox game in 10 years, Star Fox Zero brings back the dogfighting of the first two games, but also throws some puzzle elements into the mix.
  • No Man’s Sky
    • A nearly endless game, No Man’s Sky uses a generation algorithm that can procedurally generate 18 quintillion planets. Exploring nearly endless worlds with your buddies is what No Man’s Sky offers, making it one of the most anticipated games of this year.
  • Overwatch
    • A multiplayer FPS, Overwatch is the newest game by Blizzard, the creators of World of Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, Hearthstone, and Heroes of the Storm. With 12 known characters to choose from, forming good synergies with your teammates and their characters is the key to success.
  • Final Fantasy XV
    • With more installments than The Land Before Time, Final Fantasy has been around for almost 30 years. Final Fantasy XV, the newest installment, is an open world action RPG set after the events of Final Fantasy Type-0.
  • Unravel
    • A puzzle platformer, Unravel follows the story of a yarn person named Yarny as he journeys from home and explores his surroundings. As a yarn person, you leave a trail of yarn behind you, setting up for some interesting physics puzzles and challenges.
  • Cuphead
    • Cuphead is a run-and-gun action indie game drawn in the style of old 1930’s cartoons. A cruel and merciless game, Cuphead’s fun art style will not correctly prepare you if you dare to try this game.
  • Mafia III
    • Set in 1968, Mafia III follows the story of Lincoln Clay as he creates his criminal organization to get revenge on the Italian mob. Mafia III’s expansive open world set in New Orleans and its epic gun fighting mechanics will make it a game to remember.
  • XCOM 2
    • The turn-based strategy game that has been around for over 20 years, XCOM 2 again pits the player as the leader of a revolutionary group that is opposing an ongoing alien occupation of the planet. Taking turns strategically positioning your troops in order to eliminate the enemy’s reinforcements.
  • Battleborn
    • Battleborn is a first person shooter with MOBA elements developed by Gearbox Software, the creators of the Borderlands franchise. Very much like a MOBA, Battleborn requires strategy and teamwork in order to prevail.
  • Scalebound
    • Scalebound is an RPG made by Platinum games that revolves around the relationship between the player and his dragon. Teaming up with friends and their dragons to raid dungeons and kill wild dragons will be one of the best experiences of 2016.
  • Star Citizen
    • A new MMO, Star Citizen aims to be a space-trading game, a first person shooter, and a space combat game. The crowdfunding campaign has raised $106 million as of now, which shows how much hype there is for Star Citizen.
  • Total War: Warhammer
    • A turn-based strategy game, Total War: Warhammer is the newest entry in the Total War franchise, using the characters and settings from the Warhammer fantasy universe.
  • Sea of Thieves
    • An ambitious game by Rare (creators of Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country), Sea of Thieves turns you and your friends into a crew of pirates, sailing the open seas on the search for treasure.
  • Ratchet & Clank
    • A re-imagining of the first game and based on the movie of the same name, Ratchet & Clank will give anyone nostalgia. The classic platforming and over-the-top weaponry, the new Ratchet & Clank is sure to bring back memories.
