House of Cards Season 3 Review

House of Cards Season 3 Review

Will Logerfo, Writer

After climbing through the political ranks Francis Underwood is finally atop the mountain, as President of the United States of America. With Frank already having reached the top of the political world the Netflix Original series seems to have plateaued as well. The first two seasons were incredible television and had its viewers enticed and interested throughout, as the powerful couple of Francis and Claire Underwood rose through the ranks on Capitol Hill.

In season 3, there was no more climbing. This season did not have the same attraction as the first two had. There were no huge surprises, no out of the blue murders and really no true action. This season, like the past two, was very unrealistic. But the last two seasons were bearably unrealistic because of the drama and action. The most dramatic part of this season was when the American LGBT protester was arrested in Russia and the Underwood’s tried to have him released. If you watched the season, you know what happened, if you haven’t watched the season, I beg you not to waste your time finding out.

However, the last episode kept me on the House of Cards bandwagon, especially the last line of the season. I now have to know what Francis will do to get himself out of the problem that he now faces and if he will be able to win the Democratic nomination and eventually keep control of the White House.

For those of you who have not watched any House of Cards, I suggest you do. If you enjoy the first two seasons, you will be able to deal with the slow points of the most recent season. I have a feeling that Season 3 is the setup for an epic Season 4.
