I sat down with Senior Blake Duddy and asked him some questions about the current baseball season and what he looks to accomplish in his final year of OP baseball.
- As a senior, are you playing with the emotions that this will be your last year?
Baseball has always been a game for me that I play with a lot of emotion. I have played every game with the same emotion and same mentality and that will not change even though I am a senior. At the end of the day the front of my jersey still says Rams and I will bring the same attitude and energy that was brought for my past years.
- What can you pass on to the underclassmen to help them on the team in the next couple of years?
Some advice l’d give to the underclassmen is really to enjoy being on the field with the people around you. Some of my best memories at Oratory have come from either baseball or being with people on the team. Baseball is a hard game and even though things will get tough and you will fail, find a way to have fun with it because at the end of the day it’s just a game.
As Blake enters the final stretch of his Oratory Prep baseball career, he hopes to leave behind a legacy of leadership, passion, and hard work before continuing his journey at Castleton University in Vermont next fall.
