A good friend of mine, Jordan Hotra, runs track here at OP. He is a great runner. In the winter, he also runs winter track under Mr. Seebode, and he is always trying to find ways to hone his craft. His work on the track is made evident by his soccer ability, as he is swift and can out pace a lot of players. Let’s see what he was to say.
- Which, if you have a preference, do you prefer: winter track or spring track?
“I prefer winter track because the facilities we run at are some of the nicest in the country.”
- What were your initial thoughts before the season began?
“Before this season began I was a little bit worried because it is my first spring track season. We also lost a lot of key runners this year so I knew there would be a lot of responsibility put on younger teammates.”
- How do you think the season has gone so far?
“So far this season has been pretty good. I personally have had some really good races and the best of the season is still yet to come.”
- What are your personal goals for this season?
“I personally want to run under 2:10 minutes in the 800 meter and I want to win another race as an individual.”
5. Where do you think the team can improve?
“Our team right now can improve our focus. There have been some moments where we just need to focus on our workout or race and it can be hard because of our mentality.”
- Is there a meet that you guys are looking forward to/were excited to play against?
“I am really looking forward to our state competition because we will be overnight in south Jersey. The meet is also going to be a really good chance to run well.”
- Is there a teammate in particular that sticks out to you?
“One teammate that has stuck out to me this season is Henry Salaki. This is my first year running with him and he has been a great leader on the team who encourages and makes people better.”
