Since the start of the new year, the Oratory Prep Student Council has set up a new goal: to raise $2,500 for the Make-A-Wish Organization. We partnered up with them this year in order to find a child in New Jersey who has a wish and make this wish come true. The Make-A-Wish Foundation’s mission is to make life-changing wishes for terminally ill children and make sure every donation goes as far as it can to exceed the expectations of all those eligible. Wishes not only give a gift to a child, but they also give them strength and optimism. Families and communities will have more hope, someone going through so much will be happier, and people will have the encouragement to help many others. Our donation will be another step in achieving the organization’s mission, and another extension of Oratory’s family bond with everybody. Thanks to many kind donors and the Saint Philip Neri Club, we’ve already made great progress in our goal, but we aren’t done. In order to achieve this goal, we need the help of all students and families.
Oratory has set up a new fundraiser for students called the March Madness Bracket Challenge. In this challenge, you donate $10, and in return, you will receive a tag day and can fill out a bracket for the March Madness Tournament. If you finish in the top five in the Bracket Challenge, you will receive a gift card as a reward. The gift card will be $15 for fifth place, $20 for fourth place, $30 for third place, $50 for second place, and %100 for first place. You can fill out as many brackets as you want for $10 each. This is not only a fun experience for you, but it is also a major part of our goal of raising money. Every single one of your donations is very important and will do a ton to help many people. All you need to do to participate is give $10 to any student council member, Mrs. Gribbin, or Mr. Martin, and they will sign you up. Then, you can fill out your bracket here.
Be sure to donate by the end of school on March 13th. To all the people who have donated so far or are planning to donate, thank you so much for your kindness and care. If you haven’t already, please consider participating in this challenge and helping support someone with a wish.
