On February 11, 2026 the Oratory Prep track team went down to Lawrenceville to run at the Prep Meet. This meet was for Prep schools and Catholic Schools. This means teams such as Delebarton, Lawrenceville, Blair, and Newark Academy were all there.
The first race of the day was the 55 meter hurdles on the inside of the track. Flynn Breeze, the school record holder at this event, was up. He went in the provisional, but the sensor didn’t get the times. However, when they had the rerun he went 7.85 which is a 0.03 second PR and a new school record. Then, in the finals he placed fifth.
The next race was the 55 meter run. Brody Sheenan, the school record holder at this event, went 6.83. This is another school record by 0.01 seconds and a PR. He placed a respectable 9th overall.
Later in action, Brody Sheenan was up for a 400 meter dash. This was two laps around the track, and he was in the fastest heat. Brody was up against sub 50 runners, but that was no problem for him. He exploded out of the blocks coming through the 200m in a 23.8, then closing to run a 51.79. This is an indoor PR and a new indoor school record.
The 800m was headlined by freshman Robert Dudley who is the freshman record holder for the 1600m and 800m. Robert came second in his heat with a 2:06.03. This was a new grade record that he took from himself.
The last event was the 3200m run. Connor Bassolino, the Richmond commit, won the Union County Championship this last spring and this winter. Connor was running this event alone, as most competition was far behind him. He went 9:41, which isn’t a PR, but is very good considering he was running alone. This allowed him to place first.
The Rams had three school records taken down. All of those were by the former holder showing improvement. One grade record was taken down by himself, and one event winner. This is great work going into states and nationals!
