Everything involving the New Jersey Devils is going wrong. From goaltending to offense, the team is failing. In the last article, I mentioned that they were falling off, but now they have indeed fallen off. I will first start with the game on Sunday, against the Carolina Hurricanes. Luke Hughes scored twice, but for the other team. It was so bad that it got to the point where the fans were booing him. If those mistakes never happened, the game would have been tied 1-1. This game, however, was not as embarrassing as the game on Tuesday, against the New York Islanders.
This game was a disaster. The Devils lost by a score of 9-0, with goaltender Jacob Markstrom having a terrible save percentage of .625. The Devils had 44 shots, while the Islanders had only 25, proving that they are having trouble scoring. Head coach Sheldon Keefe’s interview was a joke, basically saying that everything was fine. I had high hopes for this team at the beginning of the season, but now, it is fading away. Overall, the Devils are not looking so well, and some changes have to be made in order to have a chance of making the playoffs.
