The Oratory Prep 2025-26 Winter Track Season is fast approaching, with its start being December 1st. After a very successful end to the 2025 spring season at Nike Nationals, the Rams are hoping to keep the momentum going. Last year’s winter season saw the fall of 17 school records, with many of the athletes responsible returning; it’s looking like another season of record-breaking performances.
Looking at the season ahead of him, Head Coach Seebode noted, “We have a big returning senior class who I am really proud of and know have a bright season ahead, but I am also excited for our young athletes. We graduated a lot of boys and have some uncertainty this season, so I am excited to see who rises to the occasion.” This new talent has already been on full display during the cross-country season, where new runners have taken their place alongside the already highly skilled team.
Asking some Seniors on the team, they are equally excited for the season. Distance runner Jack Ebert said, “Watch out for the 4x800m relay at states, we’re coming for the title.” Jumper Lucas Costa said, “We lost a lot of great guys, it’s gonna be a different team culture and different practice, but we have the same intensity and goals, nothing changes there”.
With meets still being decided and scheduled, we can look to the big successes of last year for a glimpse of what is to come. An all-time best finish at Union County Relays, 6th place finish at the Non Public A Relays with one state championship relay, first in the Big School Catholic Track Conference, and 2 Meet of Champions qualifiers. Stay tuned for more information as the season gets started, as these boys are ready to bring us another amazing season.
