On November 8, 2025, the Oratory Prep Rams Cross Country team packed their bags and headed to Holmdel Park. This race was the Non-Public B race. Many things are important to note about this race such as the competition, the course, and the stakes. Oratory faced some difficult competitors such as Christian Brothers Academy and Union Catholic. Not to mention, it was also the hardest course in the state.
This race was only the top 7 for the Rams and those people were seniors James Nolan, Connor Bassolino, Chase Lynch, and Alexander Kieschke. They were accompanied by freshmen Stephen Polefko and Robert Dudley. To round out the seven was sophomore Will Timbie.
The first mile was very slow, and the Rams had to make some early adjustments. However, despite the difficulties the team had five out of seven runners set course PRs. Chase Lynch took off 48 seconds and Alexander Kieschke took off over a minute! Furthermore, Captain James Nolan placed 17th with a 6 second course PR. He led the Rams, and set his path to the Meet of Champions. Because of his stellar performance he received the wild card position, and raced Sunday November 15th.
With all of these course PRs and a strong performance Oratory placed 8th out of 23. They also beat out Seton Hall and Delbarton. Delbarton was previously ranked top 20 in the state. Overall, the team had a great day to cap off the season. Only great things to come!
