AI Video Technology: Dangerous?

In this article, I want to talk about the new AI technological advancement with videos. AI has gotten smart enough to make videos of both humans and their emotions. Honestly, this has gotten very scary because you can now make anything up, even in video form. According to Miguel Rebelo from “zapier.com”, 3 types of AI help with video creation: Video editors with AI editing tools, Generative Text-To-Video Apps, and Video Productivity Apps.

To start with the video editors with AI editing tools, there are a lot of tools that incorporate AI. The one I want to focus the most on is a very popular one from Adobe: Premiere Pro. Premiere Pro is a well-known video editor that is used by people of all ages. In this app, there are 5 AI-incorporated tools to help with video editing. The first is the Morph cut feature. This is where AI cuts the video into smoother transitions to make a seemingly better-quality final product.

The 2nd important AI feature is text-based editing. AI generates long texts to suggest what you may want to add to your video. Depending on what you like about the text-based editing, you may put in a rough text and make your video much smoother.

The 3rd important AI-based tool in Abode Premiere Pro is “Auto Color”. Auto color uses AI technology to formulate a plan on where to put color and then puts color where it is needed. It accounts for many things like contrast, gradient, and lighting. The 4th cool feature that implements AI is text-to-speech. First, it will recognize and understand your voice, then try and understand what you are saying. Once the AI has a firm grasp of what you are saying, it will make a transcript of what you said in any language you want. It supports 18 different languages with normal speech patterns to be more humanizing. The 5th and final feature that AI is a part of it is the Remix tool. Remix is something that helps sync up both the audio and the video so it works in symmetry.

This may seem like a game-breaking tool. All of the human error that is usually put into videos can be completely cut out, what is so bad about it? The reason I find this so dangerous is because AI has become so helpful in only 10 or less years. If AI can learn how to adapt so well to eliminate human error so easily, what happens next? How much of the world will eventually become AI-generative? Even look at me writing this. With the tool Grammarly, I am giving suggestions by both dictionaries and AI on what to add/change in my writing. By overusing generative AI, we become prone to a lifestyle without human interaction. With everything being online (both work and school occasionally), we are already deviating from the lifestyle we’ve had for thousands of years. AI has created so many problems in such a short amount of time, just imagine what it can do in the coming future.
