I am back with another fully truthful non non-biased pizza review. This was a doozy, to say the least. I decided to stay in Summit and try a new place that few OP gents have actually visited.
I visited Square Pizza right across the street from the train station. And to be totally honest, it was awful. The inside was super nice and clean. It had smooth tile and a fancy feel to it. The pizza in the case looked delicious but once it was heated up… it became quite mid. I got a classic cheese slice. It was served on an actual plate, which would be nice but pizza being served on those paper plates has a nostalgic feel to it. The pizza had no stability and much of the cheese slipped off. The sauce was SUPER sweet and chunky, there were full pieces of tomato in the sauce. This is a huge red flag in any pizza review. The sauce did not have a lot of flavor and all the sugar overpowered the other spices. There is only crust on the outside slices which means the middle slices have no crust. Without the crust, your hands get super greasy and disgusting. The staff did not talk much, they almost seemed bored. Finally, it was WAYYYYY overpriced. 1 slice of pizza was $4.50. After one slice at Square, I felt the same as if I was eating a slice from Zappias or Dorias, and their cheese slices are only 2.75. The up mark is nuts.
I love Summit food and if you think Square Pizza is good, then go ahead and spend your $4.50 on a slice!
Review – 5.1/10 yikes…
