Oratory Basketball Preview

Oratory+Basketball+Preview

With the loss of players like Mike Pirone and Greg Jones, many would expect Rams basketball to go downhill. However, the Rams are looking for revenge against many, expecting big things…

Junior guard Asher Bradley, senior forward John Pirone, and senior center Pat Conniff have been selected as captains by head coach Connor Daugherty. Asher Bradley looks to continue his dominance, inching his way towards 1000 career points, while Conniff and Pirone look to leave their mark on the program as seniors. Senior transfer Isaiah Ahlers also looks to be a big addition to the squad. George Fagan has been named team manager and looks to emulate the ways of former manager Chris Cowell. Once again, the Rams face a tough schedule, playing plenty of formidable opponents. Despite this, the conference looks wide open as Oratory hoops hasn’t missed a beat. They look to win the conference just like they did two years ago but also aim to finish high in the county and state tournament.

A big difference between this year’s team and last is the amount of work put in during the offseason. Summer workouts, David Lam training sessions, and Summer and Fall leagues have the squad ready. Iron sharpens iron. There are leaders all over this team and these rams truly run together. Look to watch the Rams on the hardwood of Degeata Hall and as always, pack the stands!
