The Rise of Mr Beast

In the world of media, the Internet has seen many changes. Platforms like YouTube have redefined how people engage with media. Amid the changing media landscape and the rise of streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and Prime, one man stands out.

Mr. Beast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, a 25-year-old North Carolinian content creator, has seen a rapid rise to fame, leaving a strong mark on YouTube and content creation. Most importantly, he has shown that YouTubers can be just as successful as traditional studios. His strategy revolves around two things. The first thing is sensationalism. Mr. Beast is popular for orchestrating mind-boggling challenges, from a real-life squid game to even more audacious feats like being buried alive for 50 hours and going through the same drive-thru 1,000 times. His videos are designed to capture audiences’ attention and generate the max number of clicks, while being free from studio executive’s and deadlines.

Mr. Beast’s second pillar is how he shows his philanthropic efforts throughout his videos. His company, “Beast Philanthropy,” has donated millions to charitable causes like Ukraine relief, funding life-sustaining wells in Africa, and providing food to 1.5 million individuals through North Carolina’s food pantries. People in his videos also get to be a part of this charity when Mr. Beast donates money to them or gifts them with something – creating the “Mr. Beast effect” where people believe they can be in a video too.

Overall, Mr. Beast has been a transformative force in the realm of content creation. His mind-boggling videos and philanthropy inspire creators and viewers alike. Donaldson’s influence has redefined the content world, allowing for a new way to create content and showing that everyday people can have just as much influence as Hollywood studios with the right strategies.
