MLB Predictions: ALCS/NLCS

AL

#2 Houston vs #5 Texas

The long awaited AL West matchup is happening and every MLB fan should be watching. The Texas Rangers looked unstoppable vs Baltimore and if they can produce that amount of strength through every part of their team they can beat anyone. Adolia Garcia, Mitch Garver, and Corey Seager shined this ALDS and if they can stay hot, they can melt right through any pitching staff. Nathan Eovaldi was magnificent in game 3 and the bullpen depth certainly showed up with the first game being held on by 1 run. But game 2 Jordan Montgomery and the bullpen showed weakness giving up 8 runs but the offense was too powerful for Baltimore to overcome. My prediction for Houston was completely correct with a Houston in 4 outcome. Jose Abreu finally played up to his contract and Yordan Alvarez is flaming hot. Playoff Christian Javier has returned after an awful regular season he looks playoff ready just like last year. Houston’s pitching has definitely shown they can keep games serviceable enough for the offense despite that game 2 start from Framber Valdez, the pitching looks impressive. This series comes personal to many players and it will be a tough match. I have Texas coming out on top in 6.

NL

#4 Philadelphia vs #6 Arizona

Arizona has surprisingly gone 5-0 this postseason. I got the series the wrong way around with an Arizona sweep instead of an LA sweep. Arizona looked flawless with Gabriel Moreno. Ketel Marte, and Corbin Carroll once again shining bright with the Arizona lineup taking out every starter for LA in less than 3 innings every game. Dbacks starters held a strong LA lineup to just 6 runs in 3 games, can Arizona Stay hot? To me, their lineup says it all and the pitching staff must stay clutch and keep runners off base especially against a team like Philly. Philadelphia has beaten the best team in baseball and one of the best lineups ever. Aaron Nola and Zach Wheeler continue to be lightsout and the Fightin’s lineup is red hot. Bryce Harper, Nick Castellanos, and Trea Turner all showed up for the NLDS. This lineup looked involved in every at bat and were determined to beat Atlanta. This series I thought would’ve gone longer but the home field advantage for Philly was too strong for Atlanta. I believe the home field advantage will be too strong for Arizona and they will fall under the pressure and lose 4-1 in this NLCS and a Rangers-Phillies World Series.
