The Rams played against Pequannock High School on Friday in a Union County vs Morris County matchup. The Rams county run just fell short against Governor Livingston, and were defeated by Brearley a few days after as well. The two hard losses showed the Rams that they needed to earn their offensive fire power back to help them earn victories. A minute into the game, Pequannock would get on the board to give them the lead. Five minutes after, Henry Griffiths’ strike from just outside the box helped level the Rams to Pequannock. Max Cook would go onto score his 8th goal of the season just a few minutes after to give the Rams their first lead of the game. The scoring would not be done, in which Matt Pasternak earned his second goal of the season off a Sean Van Hoven rebound to put the Rams ahead by two. Just 24 seconds left in the first half, Henry Griffiths’ shot would be saved leaving Sean Van Hoven with a tap in to increase their lead by three. The Rams would go for just one more goal in the second half, as Griffiths earned the double, tallying his total goals up to 5 on the season. He also provided two assists in the Rams win to both Sean Van Hoven and Max Cook, giving him the honors for the “Man of the Match.” Enzo Sarango, Sean Van Hoven, and Max Cook all had one assists in the win as well. George Fagan and Eric Devomecourt were both strong in net, with Fagan having two saves and Devomecourt having one. The Rams’ next game is a big one, in which they travel to New Providence to take on the Pioneers.
