As the 2023 MLB season has gotten underway there have been many great starts to the season. Many players have started off running and don’t show any signs of slowing down. Some are hitting Homers and some are throwing gems. Pete Alonso and Anthony Rizzo have been two of the best hitters this season so far. Gerrit Cole and Shohei Ohtani have been throwing gem after gem on the mound.

The Hitters:

Anthony Rizzo has been swinging the hot stick for the Yanks. He’s hitting .319 with four home runs and 10 RBIs. he has been hitting in the three-hole throughout the whole season and hopes to continue his success with Volpe and Judge in front of him. Pete Alonso has also been hot to start April. He is hitting .279 with a league-leading ten home runs and is third in the MLB with 23 RBIs. He is the unnamed Captain of the New York Mets and will continue to hit well.

The Pitchers:

Gerrit Cole has started the season with four amazing outings. This leads him to a 4-0 start with a 0.79 ERA. Last season he led the league in strikeouts and has 36 already. He is the ace for the Yankees, and he hopes to keep the ball in the ballpark, unlike last season. Shohei Ohtani is one of the stars of the league today. He is mostly known for his bat, but his pitching has been stellar so far. He has a league-leading 0.64 ERA and has been making hitters look silly.
