After facing some adversity at the beginning of the season, the Oratory Rams have bounced back, going 4-2 in their last six games, leaving their overall record at 4-6. Last Friday, the Rams played in an out of conference matchup against Mendham, who have had success this year in Morris County. On the bump for the Rams was Junior ace Michael Greco, who went 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, and striking out 3 batters. The Rams would strike in the first inning thanks to a Robbie Costello double that put the Rams on the board, with the score standing at 1-0. However, Mendham would not let that haunt them by getting two of their own off a single to put them on top in the 2nd inning 2-1. The Rams would tie the game in the bottom half of the second inning on Robbie Costello’s second hit of the game. Mendham would take the lead in the fifth on a two-run single, to take the led (4-2). Robbie Costello would lead off the bottom half of the fifth inning with a single, putting Kevin Colandrea up with two outs and the tying run at the plate. Colandrea swung on the first pitch and hit the Bain building roof, tying the game and giving the Rams momentum.  With one out, Joe Loiacano and Ben Gaffney would hit back-to-back doubles to put runners on second and third with one out for Anthony Bibbo. Mendham would intentionally walk Bibbo to face Robbie Costello, leaving the bases loaded. Costello would walk, tying the game and driving in his third run of the day. Kevin Colandrea followed with a sacrifice fly, scoring Gaffney and winning the game for the Rams.
