After only losing one scorer from last year’s 7-3/3rd ranked team in the county, OP Golf was poised to make a statement to start the 2023 season…the first three matches only confirmed this. Led by a tri-first place effort, as performed by Dylan MacNaughton aside Captains Henry Bolster and Kieran Bergin, the Rams would cruise to a 47 stroke victory over Governor Livingston (161-208) to earn the first victory of the season. Bolster – a Sophomore – would continue his dominance, shooting an astonishing 35 for 9 holes in the Rams 162-183 demolition of Scotch Plains-Fanwood. In this match, Bolster would once again be followed by Bergin, before the depth of this squad would show as Sutton Collins and Jack Pastore would crack the scoring 4 to contribute to the Rams victory. Consistency would reign as a prominent theme for Coach Lueck’s squad, as OP Links’ top 4 would again combine for a score of 162 in the 46 stroke rout of New Providence. However, in spite of Oratory’s consistency of overall score, the top scorer looked very different as Senior Joe Catalano would have the best round of his career, shooting a match low 38. As for the rest of the squad, OP would put 6 guys in front of New Providence’s #2, asserting them firmly in the driver’s seat on the way to victory.  Standing at an undefeated record of 3-0, the Rams look to be a major contender within the county and Non-Public A divisions, thus making them a team that the rest of NJ should certainly look out for.
