A Brief OP Baseball Preview

Ben Gaffney, Staff Writer

The teams are set and Oratory Baseball played well in their first two scrimmages. Although many people said that they had a sub-par season last year, Oratory’s team was young and most of the players were sophomores. However, this year the team has matured a lot. Now, the starting lineup is mostly juniors and seniors. Obviously, OP still has Joe Loiacano, a sophomore starting at shortstop, and a freshman on varsity–Thomas Albanito. He has shown promise in his pitching abilities. The aces for Oratory this year are going to be Michael Greco and then Robbie Costello. But Thomas Albanito will also pitch a lot this year.  All in all, Oratory could be better this year because their team is more matured and most of their players have improved in the offseason.
