Oratory Prep Hockey Mid-Season Review

Blaine Chesnut

The start to the 2022-2023 season hasn’t been an easy one for Oratory Prep Hockey. Between the injuries that have occurred and a very tough schedule, they have had to overcome a mountain of controversy. Even after a rough start to a long season, the Rams look forward to a big week of divisional games to gain some ground in the standings. With the return of Senior Captain Ciaran Kelly and Sophomore standout Meade Gibbons from injuries, the future of this season is looking bright. Backing the Rams in goal this season is Freshman Thomas LaFrance. LaFrance has been thrown straight into the fire this year with his first games being against division rival MKA and Morris County power Mendham. So far this season he has posted a .860 save percentage in 8 games facing a whopping 271 shots so far. Collin Beard went as far as saying, “New research shows that water covers 71% percent of the Earth but Tom LaFrance covers the rest”. Make sure to check out the Rams schedule to catch some games before the season comes to a close.
