Oratory Soccer has been one of the most exciting sports to watch this year. After the boys took a tough  2-1 loss against Linden, they looked to rebound against a ferocious Plainfield team. Although the Rams would start the game off slowly, they would eventually put one in the back of the net, thanks to a wonderful cross by stud sophomore Max Cook that led to a Jack Maenpaa header. Maenpae would eventually tally two more goals for the hattrick; which puts him at 8 goals on the year. After coming out of the half, the Rams found themselves up 3-0 before Will Olohan was able to reach the back of the net off of a Andrew Van Hoven corner kick. This was Olohan’s first goal of the year, and Van Hoven’s third assist (2nd of the game). Jack Maenpaa put tallied another stat for the box score after his cross led to a powerful Harrison Lloyd finish, his 2nd of the year. The sixth and final goal would come from a Nico Marchisio assist to sophomore Jack Olohan, making him the second Olohan to score in this game. Olohan’s goal put the final touches on a statement victory for the Rams. Also notable was the goalie play of Kal Micthell, who would make three saves, allowing zero goals; this clean sheet only adds to his impressive season. The Rams will tackle Dayton in the first round of the Union County Tournament on October 6.
