OP Pins’ Freshmen Stars

Enzo Sarango, Staff Writer

Oratory Prep’s bowling team has been off to a great start in the season with several career-highs and outstanding performances. Coach Chambers, the team’s new coach, has really boosted the morale of the team with his nice and funny persona. The season is well underway and it looks like the boys will finish the season strong. Be on the lookout and don’t forget to support the boys by joining the live streams; check your email for more details to follow. OP Pins needs that extra support from the Rams.

In addition to the team as a whole, there are two bowlers that cannot go unnoticed. They stand out among an excellent group of boys and are my fellow freshmen classmates, Ryan Gronkowski and Keegan Murphy. In an interview, they shared their experiences and overall thoughts on the season thus far. Right off the bat, Ryan mentioned how the environment is always filled with laughter and jokes, creating a strong bond in the team. When asked what his experience has been like, Keegan Murphy stated that he has improved substantially since joining the team and so have other teammates, which is especially reflected in the individual performances in recent weeks.

This season, OP Pins has four seniors: Josh Costello, Xander Misrahi, Aidan Murphy, and James Finnen. Both Ryan and Keegan have not only grown in skill but also grown in confidence with the help and tips of these four amazing men. Ryan and Keegan expressed their gratitude towards the senior crew because of their continued support and being so welcoming from the start. However, OP Pins will definitely notice their absence in years to come because of their consistently high scores and the experience they bring to the table. On the bright side, we have these two promising freshmen along with several other bowlers that will lead our bowling team in years to come. And as Keegan said in his interview, “The future of OP Pins is bright and I would encourage anyone who wants to join the team to come check it out.”
