After losing their first three games, Hillside won seven in a row before their matchup vs OP. The Rams, on the other hand, were coming off a double-digit victory versus Cranford.

The Rams got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 19-8 lead after one quarter. They outscored the Comets again 12-8 in the second frame, carrying a 31-16 lead into halftime. OP came out of the intermission very strong, tallying 21 points and holding the Hillside offense to only 12. The Comets did outscore OP in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late. The Rams won by a final score of 66-45.

Tommy Conniff led the way for OP, scoring 21 points while grabbing boards and blocking shots. Mike Pirone scored 16 points with two 3 pointers. Greg Jones also added two 3’s on his way to 10 points. Asher Bradley and Cristian Simms added 7 and 6 points respectively. Senior Alex Werbaneth also added 4.

OP’s next matchup is against New Providence on Thursday before facing off against crosstown rival Summit on Saturday.
