Many of us today would view a bounty or wanted sign and reward as something straight out of the Wild West. But in our own community there currently is a $10,000 cash reward up for grabs to anyone who is willing to put forth an anonymous tip or any information on the suspects involved in the late summer carjacking of Linden, New Jersey. The crime reports present the spine-tingling events in which two armed assailants hijacked a victim’s car at gunpoint, seizing his vehicle heading east up N. Park Ave, leaving behind the victim in the dust. However, this is not where the horror ends. Only a few days before this incident there was another episode in Newark. The Essex County Sheriff’s Office believes that both these instances may be related. Multiple auto thefts in less than a week seem to be no coincidence at all.

These events appear to be straight out of an episode of Riverdale, and being a new driver, I never thought I would have to worry about my car getting stolen while I was driving! It has been almost two months since these incidents and who knows when or where the Chaotic Carjackers of Union County will return.
