OP Swim Wraps up Well

OP Swim Wraps up Well

OP Swimming closed out its season with the NJSIAA Non-Public B State Tournament. The team was seeded 5th, a decent placement in the tournament. The first opponent was Gill St. Bernards, the 8th Seed. Competing at Morristown Beard’s 25-meter saline pool, the team won most of the events, cruising to a 105-58 victory. Next up was 4th seed Gloucester Catholic, a fast team with a strong lineup. The boys swam hard, but fell short in a competitive meet 99-68. With that final meet, the season was finished.

In all, OP Swimming had a decent year and a bright future. The team had decent finishes at both the county and state level and did well against their opponents in the dual meets. The new leadership of coaches Michael Bradley and Megan O’Connor seek to build on the success of their first season and carry momentum into the future. Freshman Dylan Zwally is a bright star that seeks to bring even great success to OP swimming as he continues to develop and get faster. As I leave this team behind, I am hopeful for its bright future, and can’t wait to hear good news.
