Last Sunday the Rams defeated Watchung Hills 3-1 in quite the nailbiter. Right from the puck drop, it was a very physical and chippy game, as Watchung was looking for some revenge after Oratory beat them 5-2 just a couple weeks earlier.

Despite having many key players out with illness, like goaltender Darren Keaveny, the Rams were able to step up and grab the win. Colby Livingston and Aidan Sidlowski split the game between the pipes, with Livingston making seven saves and Sidlowski grabbing his first shutout of the season after stopping all twelve shots he faced.

After Oratory applied a lot of pressure on Watchung Hill’s defense, a scrum resulted in front where Gerard Fargiano netted a rebound, giving the Rams the early lead. The first period ended close, 1-0.

In the second period, Watchung Hill’s Peter Messineo tied the game at one a piece. Then on the powerplay, Jarvis found Crapser backdoor for the one-timer, giving the Rams a dominant 2-1 lead. The penalty kill units and Aidan Sidlowki came up big, while the Rams fought off two major five minute penalties in the second and third period.

In the third period, Connor Keaveny ripped the puck from the point where Will Moran was able to pick up the rebound and find the back of the net. This would secure Oratory’s 3-1 win against Watchung and their second win against the team this season.
