Can Anyone Stop Lamar Jackson??

For the last few weeks, all anyone can talk about is Lamar Jackson. “Yo did you see that pass Lamar made yesterday??”. “How bout that spin move he had against the Bengals, that was so dirty!!”. Those are just some examples of what people are saying about the shifty, versatile quarterback out of Louisville. This year, Lamar Jackson has basically been a cheat code. Leading his team to a 10-2 record, best in the AFC, Jackson is the front runner for the MVP race, having 977 rushing yards, that being 8th best in the NFL. 8th best out of every running back and quarterback in the league. That is unheard of. Along with that, Jackson has 2,532 passing yards to go with 25 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. Jackson’s rushing, passing, and leadership skills have led him to be the MVP frontrunner, along with having the top spot in the AFC division.

As playoffs are approaching and the Ravens are holding an 8 game win streak against top-tier teams like the Patriots, Seahawks, Texans, and 49ers, the main question everyone is asking is this: Can anyone stop Lamar Jackson? The simple answer is this; right now, no one can stop him. The way that Lamar Jackson has been playing recently is uncanny. There has not been any quarterback this dominant at rushing and passing since Michael Vick in the last 2000s, and even then Vick was obtainable. At this point in time, Lamar Jackson isn’t. He is not human. His leadership is what sets him apart from Vick. Jackson is never satisfied with how he plays. He always finds some moments where he messed up, and in practice the following week he does whatever he can to fix that. This is what makes Jackson so special; he is never satisfied with his performance, no matter what.

If Lamar Jackson can keep up this type of play, I sincerely do not believe that he cannot be stopped. He has marched through two of the best defenses in the NFL this year like it was nothing. He seems to make jaw-dropping throws and shifty rushes every game. If Jackson can keep up his versatility for the rest of the season and into the playoffs, I truly believe that the Ravens will be Super Bowl contenders for the 2020 NFL season.
