Mr. Gordon Somehow Gets Engaged

Mr.+Gordon+Somehow+Gets+Engaged

Religion Mr. Gordon recently proposed to his girlfriend, and to the amazement of many people at Oratory (probably to his own amazement too), she said yes. He is currently engaged and will eventually become married to his fiancee. Since I was so astounded and confused by his successful proposal, I decided to try to figure out why someone in their right mind would want to marry Mr. Gordon. So I went up to him and asked him the simplest of questions: “how did you get someone to marry you?” Now, Mr. Gordon, being himself, did not actually answer the question. But he did do something way better than answering the question; he actually allowed me to ask his fiancee some questions as to what she was thinking when she said yes.

So I crafted three questions for the Future Mrs. Gordon; 1.) Why did you say yes? 2.) What is your favorite thing about Mr. Gordon? 3.) And how has becoming a parent impacted Mr. Gordon?

In response to the first question, she said “I have loved Mr. Gordon for a very long time… I can’t imagine my life without him in it anymore… he truly completes me, he is the Mac to my cheese” which is generally the response that you want to hear as to why you married someone. In her answer, she also said, “Sadly, we were never on the same chapter in our book of life, (honestly sometimes we weren’t even on the same book) he finally caught up.” So in typical Gordon fashion, Mr. Gordon was completely lost, but somehow, he became normal enough for her that she finally agreed to marry him.

Now for the second question, the soon to be Mrs. Gordon responded, “My favorite thing about Mr. Gordon is his passion. He has a passion for life and is always ready to experience something new. He has the ability to get you excited about almost any situation even when you don’t particularly want to be.” Now, this is not my favorite thing about Mr. Gordon (his willingness to allow notes for reading checks is) but this is a good answer from the fiancee. He does find a way to get excited about anything he does, from torturing his students about Immanuel Kant to the Dark Knight. He is so passionate about his job that if Mr. Gordon is teaching during the day, you can probably hear him from anywhere on campus.

Finally, the third question, where the woman soon to be known as Mrs. Gordon responded “Becoming a parent is a learning experience for everyone. He is no different. Although it is harder on him since he has to adapt to someone that has had her own way of doing things for a while. Watching him with her is amazing. He has pride in his eyes when she has accomplished something new. He has patience with her when she is struggling. He has a love for her like she is his own, and to see her love him back and accept him is an indescribable feeling.” Clearly, Mr. Gordon is doing something right here because she seems to be happy with the job that he is doing. She seems to appreciate what he is doing for their daughter. She clearly admires the things that Mr. Gordon does and loves the relationship that he has with the little girl.

In summary, it sounds like the Future Mrs. Gordon is a great person.  She seems honest, and is a woman who can clearly find the good in people.  It looks to be that she is the one who found him when he was lost and saved him.  We wish them well, and are happy he finally found a great person to have a family with… And in our honest opinion, she’s also pretty lucky to be getting him.  He may be loud, but he’s pretty awesome too!
