Oratory Prep vs Old Tappan Lacrosse

Jonathan DeMontagnac, Staff Writer

On Saturday Oratory Prep traveled one hour to an away game at Old Tappan. This was an unusual game due to the fact originally Oratory Prep was scheduled to play Morris Knolls but the game was canceled. The first goal was scored by Old Tappan in the first minute of the game but this did not dissuade Oratory. In response, Oratory scored multiple goals lead by Matt Garibaldi. This game was Andrea Fiorenza’s first game back in two weeks and his presence made a noticeable difference, winning over 75% of his faceoffs. In this game, Matt Garibaldi tied the school record for the most goals in one game with eight goals. After the second half, Oratory had a sizeable lead and Coach Roy gave many players such as John Kraft, Johnny Driska, and Tommy Conniff their first complete varsity halves. In the end, Oratory won the game with a score of 14 – 1 led by Matt Garibaldi and Andrea Fiorenza.
