The Basics of Music Production Part 2

Paul Topazio, Staff Writer

Now that you’ve got an idea of the technical necessities that go into music production, it’s important to establish that you know what you’re doing. Before even preparing to make your own music, you should make sure you have an understanding of the fundamentals of music and an understanding of how to use your DAW. If you want to get some basics of music theory down, I recommend checking out some resources offered here by Music Production Nerds. In addition, if you are interested in investing in a resource that better explains your DAW(other than YouTube), I recommend checking out the numerous courses offered here at Lynda.com (an American-made website which offers video courses taught by industry experts in software, creative, and business skills).
