Red Fallout Redemption 76 – 2018’s Newest Games

Sebastian Gould, Staff Writer

It’s games season again, and everyone’s clutching their $60 tightly, weighing and talking and researching all the big titles that are set to drop or already have dropped this fall. Red Dead Redemption II, Fallout 76, FIFA ‘19, Battlefield V, and many more are blowing up social media and peppering the calendars of eager gamers from September to November. Let’s sort two of the biggest names whose newest iterations will be hitting the streets this season.

First, the sixth major installation of the iconic Fallout series, Fallout 76, will be released on Wednesday, November 14. Bringing multiplayer to the post-apocalyptic nuclear wastes for the first time, the game has built up incredible hype as players can now explore the quirky, personality-filled world of Fallout with friends at their side. Taking place in an alternate-future West Virginia countryside, the game promises big things for the Americana-filled, Atom-powered universe by Bethesda. Having had the fortune of playing a few hours of Fallout 76’s beta edition, the game’s DNA in the earlier Fallout 4 is clear, with UI, landscape, weapon, and character designs that all appear very similar if not identical to the last installment. We’ll learn in weeks to come if the new Fallout can live up to the legendary reputations of its predecessors, such as Fallout: New Vegas.

On October 26th, we got Red Dead Redemption II. Probably the most anticipated out of the new titles, the latest from legendary developers Rockstar Games is a Western open-world prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption. With sensational hype building across social media and the Internet, anticipation for RDR2 has even reached Oratory in the form of Mr. Martin’s recent speaker, James Mount, a voice actor and animation modeler for Rockstar. No doubt, Red Dead Redemption II is the talk of the town.

With countless major games coming out this fall, everyone is rushing around and forcing themselves to choose. Fallout 76’s multiplayer and golden pedigree? Red Dead Redemption II’s huge hype and expert development? A new FIFA? For many, it’ll be a nail-biting decision. So, where will you spend your $60 this season?
