Democrats Take the House of Representatives

After almost two years of political turmoil between the Democrats and Republicans, things could be changing. For the last two years, the Democrats did not have control of the House of Representatives, the Senate, or the White House. All these were controlled by a Republican majority, which means they had the uncontested ability to pass any laws that they wanted without having to use an executive order from the President. But now that the Democrats have a majority over the House of Representatives, this will change. This majority allows many things to occur such as launching investigations into hotly debated topics such as President Trump’s finances, Russian interference in the 2016 election, administration ethics scandals, and most importantly stopping the Republican agenda. This majority change isn’t all bad for Trump but instead, if appropriately used, can be regarded as an opportunity. Similar to what Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon did, Trump can build his image in the public’s eyes by proving he can work with the Democrats to bolster his 2020 presidential campaign. However one does not know everything that will entail with this change in Congress.
