Although Music Ministry is much less present and easy to see around campus, it is easily one of the most important clubs at Oratory because of its core role in the school’s frequent masses and prayer services. The role of the club is usually overlooked, but the environment of the school itself would be altered if the frequent masses weren’t accompanied by the talented young musicians, singers, and sound techs. Each mass requires hundreds of man-hours to set up, practice, and rehearse. However, the work is well worth the result, and the school gets to enjoy music and singing to accompany the mass service.

While Music Ministry might seem like a thankless job, the experience that members gain is extremely valuable, both with their skill in music and technology and through the service hours that they gain. Each year, Music Ministry members gain hundreds of hours of service, which is valuable when applying to colleges and jobs. Music Ministry is a great way to get involved in the OP community because of the connections you make and the skills you gain.
