Week three in the National College Athletics Association showed the continued success of the dual quarterback systems. Number one, Alabama, number two, Georgia, and number three, Clemson, all continue to see success in their two-quarterback systems. After, replacing Jalen Hurts for Tagovailoa, which led to Alabama’s win in the playoffs against Georgia last year. Nick Saban has continued to use this dual quarterback strategy, which has paid off. Surprisingly, this year both the Clemson Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs are juggling tricky two-quarterback platoons. This new system may become popular across many teams in the near future.

With the BYU upset against Wisconsin, it pushed Wisconsin out of its fourth spot in the nation. Additionally, destroyed its chances of reaching the playoffs as a result of its loss and a strong Ohio State team. Furthermore, an Ohio State win against TCU made Ohio State the major Big Ten candidate for the playoffs. Additionally, with LSU win over Auburn, it now became a race between Georgia, LSU, and Alabama for one or two coveted spots in the playoffs. After this week’s game, the current playoff situation looks like Alabama at number one spot with its impressive two-quarterback system and their strong end of season schedule with games against LSU, Auburn, and Mississippi. Next, in the number two spot is Oklahoma. Oklahoma is currently leading the Big 12 and has a strong schedule, with games against TCU, West Virginia, and Oklahoma State. Then, in third place is Ohio State. Ohio State already defeated a strong TCU team and have a strong schedule with future games against Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State. Finally, the fourth spot will go to Notre Dame instead of Clemson. Notre Dame has already defeated Michigan and will play a number of good teams such as number seven Stanford and a very good Virginia Tech. Meanwhile, Clemson’s hardest game is against a mediocre Boston College.

Week three shook up the world of college football and gave insight to the playoffs. The future of this season is still unknown and many teams could still have success and secure a playoff spot.
