Open Mic Night

Open+Mic+Night

Christopher McAllister, Staff Writer

On May 18th, 2018 Oratory hosted the inaugural Open Mic Night hosted by yours truly. The night was very successful with many acts performed by us students. The first performance was by the Trumpet Trio of John Celona, Steve Fudenna, and James Kim. The rest of the acts were either singing, playing an instrument, or poetry. The people who sang were John Spitznagel, Chris Ocker, Jack Hillebrecht, Conall Gorman and the school acappella group, The Ramifications. Those who played an instrument were The Trumpet Trio, John Botros, and Alex Jansiewicz. Finally, those who read poetry were Sebastian Gould and Ty Cross. Each student brought their own unique flavor to what they did and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The room, however, was mostly filled with parents which were great, but I expected more students to show up and support their friends. The Night could really be summed up by the blazer I wore; unique, tasteful, and a lot of fun. Congrats to everyone who performed, and those who will at next years.

P.S. If you’d like to find the blazer, it should be on the OP Instagram in the Acapella video.
