The Month of May

The Month of May

Joseph Meade, Staff Writer

As the Seniors exit and the hallways become less crowded, the calendar has now turned to May. For those of us who have been here before we all know what this entails. However, for those new to Oratory, this means a month filled with projects, tests, finals review, and cramming. The month is very long and filled with full weeks of school with the exception of Memorial Day Weekend. This often means that you will have weeks and even days with multiple assessments and projects. Many Juniors at my lunch table were not so happy about this because this month is likely the most crucial of our academic careers up to this point. With the month of May on the calendar also comes great temptation. This lies in the fact that May is when the weather starts to become really nice and where big-time movies come out as well. Many fall into this trap and lose precious time and sleep because of it. Others fall into different traps such as napping, waiting, or gaming. Although this sounds horrible, there is one bright side to May. After May we have one week of finals and then it is nearly three months of summer vacation before you are back to do it all again!
