Oratory’s Mock Trial season came to an end on March 14th. This group of bright individuals had such a large amount of potential and was one of the best teams Oratory had ever fostered. With a loss to Mendham, the 2017-2018 season was officially over. However, this loss did not negate all the greatness they had experienced prior. They finished third place in the State of New Jersey out of 240 teams and enjoyed winning their seventh straight county title as well. On behalf of Oratory, the program would like to thank Mike Wandel, Jack Munro, Matt Nelson, Oscar O’Brien, Matt Bernardo, Thomas Snyder, Ketan Patel, Jacob Greenberg, Fred Tang, Ryan Briggs, and captain Joey D’Angelo. These seniors offered much time and effort for the better of the program and we would like to say thank you for everything. Jacob, Ryan, and Fred played witness roles in the most recent regional final while Joey was an outstanding attorney and the senior captain. The seniors made the heart and soul of the team and will be sorely missed next year. Also, I would like to thank Mr. Martin, Mr. Meehan, Mr. Scirocco, and Scott who all took time out of their busy schedules to teach and coach throughout the year. Without them, this team would have never relished the success it has become accustomed to. Although this year is now over, next year looks to be just as promising. Nicholas Sannito, junior co-captain and attorney, will try to lead the team to another successful season in 2018-2019 and follow up on this amazing year.
