Get Involved with Empty Bowls

Paul Topazio, Staff Writer

For all who don’t know about the Empty Bowls program, there will be an upcoming event on March 7th hosted by the art department, where handmade ceramic bowls will be sold for donations to charity.  This year the program will be run by Andrew Lee and Joseph Budisak, as compared to last year’s hosts—Jack Lazar and Matthew Bahr—who hosted a hugely successful drive, racking in over 2,000 dollars of donations.  In order to stack up to, and hopefully surpass the level of accomplishment from last year, the new E.B. team will need all the help they can get making bowls. Anyone interested in helping can stop by the art room for 10 to 15 minutes after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and to contribute a pot of their own.  If you haven’t learned how to make a pot on the wheel, or you just don’t remember, have no fear!  The entire E.B. team will be available to help and make the process as easy as possible.
