Sophomore Retreat – Heroes

Sophomore+Retreat+-+Heroes

On Wednesday, the sophomore class and the campus ministry had the annual retreat to Archdiocesan Youth Retreat Center.

The retreat had a common theme about heroes. The class of 2019 designed their own medieval crests, capes, and mask to help explore this concept. The campus ministry also gave some speeches about their own personal lives. Nick Browne spoke about heroes in his life, Alex Cavaliere spoke about the masks others use to hide themselves, and Thomas Snyder spoke about being a man of faith and what that meant. They were all very inspiring and insightful.

There were some hilarious antics throughout the day, however. The highlight was the skits about heroes that the several groups each performed. They included Joe Meade fighting against the Joker, two different skits about shark attacks, and a hero saving a friend from being run over by a human train. The performances were funny and contained some symbolism.

The sophomores enjoyed their personal day off for school and are looking forward to next year retreat, where they will open letters that they wrote to themselves at the end of the retreat.
