OPoetry: “A Winter Prayer” by Davis Zung

OPoetry: A Winter Prayer by Davis Zung

Once fire kindled kept me warm

I venture out into white storms

Shattered glass and clothes are torn

I pray no longer will I mourn

Holy castle kept me safe

I pray my spirit does not break

Snowbound winter with winds so strong

I pray my mind will do no wrong

Where moonbeams catch me in their light

May heaven spare me one more night

Clouded sky with the moon so bright

Lead my soul to win the fight

And though I pray to do what is right

I find my virtue out of sight

The cold white snow brings me to sleep

I pray no longer will I weep
