On October 1, 2016, the Oratory Prep Varsity Soccer Team hosted Roselle Park in the First Round of the Union County Tournament.  Oratory was the eighth seed while Roselle Park was seventeenth seed.  The two teams had met earlier in the season, where the game ended in a 3-3 draw.  From the start of the game Oratory immediately dominated possession and had multiple opportunities on goal.  Yet, it wasn’t until the seventeenth minute when Matt Bopp opened the scoring to put Oratory ahead.  Oratory had dominated the half but was only ahead by one at halftime.  In the second half, Oratory continued to dominate possession.  Again, it wasn’t until the seventeenth minute when Anthony Guerriero scored for Oratory.  From this point on Roselle Park looked defeated.  Aj Kopacz was able to score two more goals in the closing minutes for Oratory.  With a final score of 4-0.  Oratory has advanced to the second round of the Union County Tournament and will host Plainfield at 10:30 on Saturday the 8.
