OPoetry: Sentence in July by Davis Zung

Davis Zung, Staff Writer

Solemn wilting faded flower

Concludes its final hope of showers

A royal purple dulled to violet

Ready to embrace the silence

What’s this! A stormy sky appearing

May this flower receive what’s nearing

As storm draws closer flower perks up

Soon to arise from lonesome rut

Flower desperate for this water

Strangely it had gotten hotter

Fire comes down from the sky!

Garden doomed to burn and die!

Mother Nature crucified
