After a tough 0-4 start to the season, Oratory went into their next game very hungry. During the second half of the Delaware Valley game, the team discovered a new drive to push on and not let themselves be knocked down. This energy launched the Rams into their next game against Voorhees high school.

After a constant battle back and forth, a final save by all-star keeper Matt Lanigan sent the Rams into overtime with the Vikings with a score of 4-4. Coming off a great faceoff win, the Rams took their last timeout of the game in order to create a play that would win the game. The boys went out and set up in their respective positions with the ball starting with Joel Pascuzzi. The play was broken up by a good defense, but a look from Matt Falcone to Jake Kontra lead to a rebound shot in which Brian Windisch picked up and dunked back in to complete his hat trick. The Rams were exhilarated as they rushed the field in order to celebrate their first of many wins.

The next game was an away game at Gill St. Bernard’s. The Gill team came off an extreme high with a record of 3-0 as a first-year program. However. they were not ready for the Rams. Three goals by Jake Kontra and two goals by Mark Miyashiro led the Rams to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter. By halftime the score was 7-4. From then on, it was a dog fight. Gill was determined to improve to 4-0 so their attack and middies began playing aggressively in order to make it a two-goal game. This aggressiveness however led to bad penalties, which gave the Rams many opportunities. Jake Kontra put up two more goals while Matt Falcone added one and Brian Windisch capped off his remarkable week with a second hat trick. His third goal was again, a game winner.

Overall, this team is looking to keep fighting and become a well-respected program in their division. The only thing that has to be on their mind though is taking it one play, one minute, one second at a time and not looking past anything.
