On Their Case

You’d think Apple couldn’t get any funnier since the release of the unwieldy and expensive iPad Pro – you were wrong. I actually wonder if Apple just wants to see how far they can push things just because they are Apple.

Apple just released a new “smart” case with a battery attached to it. You’d think because it’s Apple that it would have a cool design, but it doesn’t. It looks like they had a ton of extra battery and just wrapped silicon around it. It’s not even a good silicon material, it attracts crazy amount of lint on it after you take it out of your pocket. And this case makes me wonder, “Did anyone at Apple think this was a good idea and even tried to use it?” The funny thing is that Apple is still selling Mophie cases instead of their new “smart” case. The main question I have to Apple is this: what’s with the design? It looks like the iPhone giving birth to a small iPhone. Some rumors have surfaced that the design was used to avoid Mophie’s patients, but why would anyone have approved of it? The Mophie cases have a much better appearance, a higher capacity and an off/on switch. There is no off switch to the case, it will just automatically turn on to charge your phone, which can be pretty annoying. Reviews of the products complain that it doesn’t actually full charge your phone from 0 to 100 which is very obnoxious. They could have smoothed out the hump by adding bigger capacity which can solve both problems with design and capacity. This case tells me that Apple has realized that the iPhone has way too small of a battery for people to survive on, but Apple wanted to make it as thin as possible even though no one would mind if the new iPhone is a couple millimeters bigger.

I feel like I can speak for all Apple fans (even though I use Android) that I would totally buy an iPhone 6s XL, which is just a thicker version of the 6s with a bigger battery. I know it’s the holiday season and you probably want to buy a battery case for someone, but please don’t buy this case. If you really love them, just buy Mophie.
