Mock Trial

On January 5th and 7th the Oratory Prep Mock Trial team faced off in the opening round of the Union County Mock Trial Tournament.  Oratory Prep has dominated this tournament over the past decade winning 8 County Championships.  This year is no different, as the team is bound for their 3rd straight County Title.  The layout of the tournament is as follows: each team has four matches over two days, the plaintiff has two and the defense has two each versing an unidentified high school in the county.  Since there are twelve competing teams in the tournament, for a team to have a guaranteed place in the Semi-Finals they need to win all four of their matchups or go 3-1 and advance on total number of points accumulated.  Oratory Prep won every single one of their matches, annihilating each of their opponents because they were exceptionally prepared.  The Plaintiff team was lead by attorneys Joe Bizub and Christian Gonzalez who each had superb performances.  On the other side, the Defense was lead by Connor Briggs and Justin Rodriguez who both displayed an exceptional presentation of the case to the courtroom.  The OP Mock Trial Team has advanced to the county semi-finals at the Union County Courthouse in Elizabeth on Monday January, 26.   Wish the team good luck as they search for a second State Championship.
